I’d try to ensure there is some kind of connection to the events and the firm you are applying to, even if just that the firms do similar work. If you have the word count you could briefly talk about either what you learnt or how the events have shaped your career motivation.
Remember the question isn’t asking you to frame this in what the firm would do. It’s just asking you to talk about pitch processes generally, and asking you to potentially leverage previous experiences.
But it wouldn’t be presumptive if that’s the approach you took.
They aren’t going to look at you negatively if
1) you can identify your weaknesses - self awareness is a vital characteristic of any trainee
2) you can show what you are either doing to develop that particular weakness or how you have learnt to work around it
The accelerated course is more likely to be more days per week. Used to be 4 days a week back in my day, but that was way before remote learning etc, so things may have changed.
Unless money isn't an issue due to savings/bank of Mum & Dad, I would think that staying at home would be a far less stressful approach even with a 40 minute commute.
Even in London, to find somewhere affordable for a house share, your commute would still probably be around 40 minutes anyway...
Ah ok. That technically isn’t an SJT assessment really.
There isn’t a right or wrong answer with these type of personality questionnaires, they weigh it up across all your answers and get a profile, it is not like this is a pass/fail assessment, which an SJT is.
Just answer honestly and...
Things to consider:
Does the firm state it values leadership or collaboration in its marketing material?
In the scenario, are you really going to be a designated leader (eg a first seat trainee working with qualified lawyers vs second year trainee working with paralegals)?
Not an issue at all if it is not important to you.
An interest in international work would be separate from the firm’s international strategy in a lot of instances.
There isn’t really an set number of points, but focus on what the day job is. That isn’t really going to employer events in all honesty - that’s just an extra responsibility that staff can get involved in, just like they can get involved in CSR activities, pro Bono or even things like charity...
