Well done on getting an AC! It took an hour or two for the invite to show up in my app portal. I would check again in an hour or two - if nothing by tomorrow morning then just shoot the team an email.
Your mileage may vary, but just some general points that have held me in good stead so far in my own search:
As a general preparation technique have found it helpful to always print out my applications before an interview and go through it sentence by sentence with a highlighter and a pen and...
Congratulations!! Have you received any further info from Grad Rec after confirming? I confirmed my AC on Thursday but haven't heard anything yet apart from an automated email from CV-mail confirming I'd booked an AC.
Hi!
I have been having the exact same issue. I took the practice test and went to take the real one and got the same message. I will email the team too and post back once I hear anything back.
Hey!
I did an LLM at UCL - happy to answer any questions you might have (just shoot me a PM!).
I split my UCL statement into three points:
1) why I'd chosen UCL (location + what it represents as an academic institution)
2) why I'd chosen an LLM / my specific area (I'd written my dissertation...
It's funny how lonely this process can make you feel, despite how many people you know must be struggling beside you. Fingers crossed we can both prosper in good time.
No dice after my AC. I guess it's another round of applications for me.
Just turned 25, 2 years out of university - I really thought this round was my round. I finally had all my ducks in a row - I'd done a great vac scheme the year before, I'd got a great paralegal job at a great firm. Now...
The blurb on the apply4law AC booking page says "Please note you will also receive instructions for the presentation task element in advance of the half day assessment centre."
Email from grad rec also mentioned I'd receive further details once I'd confirmed my place, but neither said...
How far in advance would you normally expect to be given a brief for an AC presentation? I had my spot confirmed yesterday for early next week and was told I'd hear more info shortly, but haven't had any further info yet (and conscious that Monday is a bank holiday too!).
Considering sending...
Hi! I'd be fooling you if I said I knew for sure, as they didn't specify on a particular CV style / nobody asked.
That said, I think the standard legal CV format (bullet point, legal / non - legal / extra curriculars etc.) should be fine.
Just received a Stephenson Harwood AC invite!! My first AC of the cycle - really pleased with that.
If anyone who has gone through it has any tips for the AC I would really appreciate it (particularly the presentation as I've not had to do one for an AC before, let alone virtually).
Dentons rejection.
Re Goodwin, not sure what the stage is for direct TC applicants but from LinkedIn I have seen that they have offered TCs to those that had a vac scheme with them.
Hi all,
I attended the webinar for Crowell & Moring yesterday regarding their new training contract program and thought it might be helpful for others who hadn't heard about it / weren't able to make the webinar to do a quick write up of some notes I took. This is by no means exhaustive, as I...
I'm so sorry to hear this. I am in the same position as you - two years a graduate, didn't even get feedback from my VS at a US law firm last year (despite all my supervisors and everyone I worked with giving me great feedback and really feeling like I'd crushed it), just 'we've decided to go...
For those still waiting - Slaughter and May rejection (about an hour ago). Tough to take another rejection, but that's life I suppose. Wishing the absolute best of outcomes to anyone waiting to hear back still!
Tomorrow will be a day to analyse where I could have gone wrong, today is a day to...
