I think I would advise having that peace of mind early on and securing that TC from now would be very big. The NQ salary isn’t too different and with the pressure of the mergers lately CMS are looking to expand into the US market. CMS also have extremely strong and respected practices in London which will allow a seemingly easy lateral move to DLA or any other law firms in London post qualification.
Though, the DLA intake is big it’s not a guarantee and the feeling of regret that you’ll have if you wait for DLA and if anything crazy happens out of your control on the vac scheme and then you lose both potentially may be very difficult to deal with. Congratulations either way!
