I hope everyone is keeping safe and is well with all that is going on in the world!

I was just wondering whether anyone had heard back from Baker McKenzie post-VI? Successful or non-successful?

I don’t think so- I was one of the first to get a VI in late March and I haven’t heard anything. The email said we’d hear back ‘no later than May 4th’ so presumably we’ll hear back then.

I’ve just been invited to complete the online tests for Browne Jacobson (direct TC).

Could anyone who has done these advise me about the deductive reasoning test? I’m worried that this is similar to the WG (which I’ve been unsuccessful at previously)?

I emailed them earlier this week and they got back to me saying my application is in the second stage of review (not sure what this means) and that they'd respond by the end of May!

If you are not hearing back, I wouldn’t worry too much. A lot of graduate recruiters have been furloughed and so teams are not running with the same number of people. A lot of grad rec people who are working are focusing on current trainees and working on necessity work (like qualification processes, law school stuff, SRA).

Id try to be patient until at least lockdown is over

The deadline for Direct TC applications is not until May 31st. Although we do recruit on a rolling basis, we will not start reviewing applications until May, so applicants can expect to hear back by the end of May or June.

The current situation is very uncertain and we are constantly thinking of ways to adapt, at the moment, we do not foresee any changes to our recruitment for Direct TC but if this changes then we will be sure to let people know.
