it has VI questionsHey - is anyone please able to confirm that the Freshfields stage 2 test VI questions are only SJT questions? Thank you!
Even I'm not sure about this, I'm going to email the Grad Rec about it and once I receive a reply a from them, make a decision.CMS say that they sponsor visas for international students for their direct TC, however if you secure a TC with them you need to do their CMS academy and it says on their app portal that they don't sponsor visas for this. It also says that doing the CMS academy is a mandatory requirement of your TC offer.
Anyone who requires a visa for a TC will obviously require a visa for the 2 week scheme so isn't this just a roundabout way of saying they don't sponsor visas? Am I missing something?
That means they will sponsor TC visa for international students who are freshly graduated from the UK universities and for those who've already stayed in the UK for their studies during the scheme. That goes the same for lot of firms like Akin, CC, DLA Piper, etc which are not allowing international students from non UK universities as they recruit solely from vac scheme.CMS say that they sponsor visas for international students for their direct TC, however if you secure a TC with them you need to do their CMS academy and it says on their app portal that they don't sponsor visas for this. Unless they have a program in the country you have the rights to work, then you have no problem. I have the list of firms who want and do not sponsor a visa for VS.
Here you go, don't forget to give likes so everybody would noticeInteresting, can I have the list please if that's okay?
Ahhh that makes sense, as fresh graduates have the post-study work visa option. I applied on the 20th and got a call yesterday!Hi would the people who have received an invite for an interview with Travers Smith be happy to share when they apply?
In any case congratulations !!
Hello!Hi there! Out of curiosity, if you apply for Travers' direct TC, are you able to apply for VS in the same cycle if unsuccessful? I get that you can't if you make it to the interview, but I can't find much about whether you can in the same cycle anywhere. Thank you!!
Hey, I spoke with Grad Rec on a number of different occasions this cycle and they have highlighted each time that you're welcome to reapply in the same cycle as long as you haven't made it to the interview and you've made substantive changes in your application, hope that helps to clear things up! I'm personally planning on applying for the direct TC and trying again for the VS if it doesn't work out 😅Hi there! Hello!
Hey!
That's a great question, and it can definitely feel open-ended! If I was approaching this question, I would think about it in two ways:
1. Personal Contribution - what unique strengths, experiences, or insights would you bring to the firm? For example, would you help foster collaboration, or do you bring in a global outlook?
2. Overall Impact - how does your contribution tie into CMS's wider goals and values? If the firm has a focus on innovation, you might discuss wanting to support the firm in delivering innovative solutions to clients.
It doesn't have to be something 'grand' - you could even focus on how you'd like to make a positive difference in your team or with clients, which shows self-awareness and motivation. I would make sure to link your answer back to both your personal qualities and CMS's culture.
Your answer could follow a structure such as:
1. Start with your motivation - why CMS? What about the firm has motivated you to apply there?
2. Discuss your strengths - highlight the qualities and skills that you gained from previous experiences that would allow you to make an impact.
3. Link this to the impact - show how these strengths translate into a positive contribution at CMS. This could be on a team level (e.g. supporting colleagues), on a client level (e.g. innovative thinking), or on a firm-wide level (e.g. championing diversity or sustainability).
4. Conclude - tie it back to the kind of professional you hope to become at CMS and the difference you'd like to make in the long run.
I hope that helps![]()
