TCLA Direct Training Contract Applications Discussion Thread 2025-26

I noticed Linklaters also asks for consistent 2:1 in all modules and two weeks legal work experience, I am guessing getting an overall 2:1 won't suffice they needs 2:1 in every module taken. just wanted to know if anyone has any information regarding this like if someone has spoken to their recruiters about this at events?

Did this candidate have that experience?
Not sure, I didn't ask, but I should focus on the other apps this week lolll since the deadline is approaching, I also got invited to some tests already which is more certain as I got their OD, so was well prepared, confident, and tailored the app on another level.

While I think some deserve to be a gambling, yet because I didn't met at any events as I do believe there is a some luck factor in this whole process, but lack of peculiarity because of limited eligibility for me.

I spoke to them at LegalCheek Live earlier this year. They said that if you have mitigating circumstances that explain why you didn't get a 2.1 in every module, you can disclose those as part of the app form and still apply. But if you do not have any exceptional circumstances that explain the inconsistency in your marks, then you should not apply.

thanks for this, saves me a lot of time

I am a bit confused about A&O. I read that a few people have received AC invites for the direct TC and nobody is sure if this is for 2027 or 2028, or if they are inviting people in batches.
But A&O also had separate applications for Law and Non-law students. So does anyone know if these AC invites are for Law or Non-Law?

I just asked chatgpt and she said its most likely a rejection. I just deleted her, i'm not here for negativity right now🥲
In this context, “Archived” simply means that the listing is no longer active.

For a training contract posting, Archived usually means one of the following:
  • The vacancy has closed (applications are no longer being accepted)
  • The firm has removed or completed the listing
  • The page is kept only for reference/history, not for current recruitment
So the “London Training Contract – Clifford Chance – Archived” entry is not an active opportunity; it’s an old listing kept on the site for record purposes.
