Congratulations! When did you apply?Just got a slaughter and may interview invite. Anyone that has done it before, can you give me some advice? I'm happy to share insights on gibson dunn, fried frank, akin
Thank you. I sent it off about a month agoCongratulations! When did you apply?
Cover letter: you should ABSOLUTELY include a “why me” section.Hi everyone! Does anyone have any advice or insights on applying for Slaughter & May's direct Training Contract (non-law), particularly when it comes to the CV and cover letter?
Cover letter
Their FAQ says to explain why you're interested in a career in law and why you're applying to Slaughter & May. Normally, I'd also expect to answer "Why you?" in a cover letter. Am I right in thinking that, for Slaughter, I only need to focus on the two questions they've asked and don't need to include a separate "Why me?" section?
CV
Would you recommend including things like law fairs, insight days, or virtual internships on the CV? If so, what's the best way to group or title those experiences?
super helpful - thank you!Cover letter: you should ABSOLUTELY include a “why me” section.
CV: yes you should include them. I group mine separately from my work experience since it isn’t really work
