Update: got the TC!!!!!

Is the GDL equivalent to the PGDL for the purpose of being a sufficient conversion course for non-law graduates. e.g. if a firm requires you to complete the PGDL if you secure a TC, would having already completed the GDL mean I would not have to essentially repeat this by completing the PGDL? I only ask since PGDL is Level 7 and GDL is Level 6.

I would imagine that it should be fine for the majority of firms. It would be bizarre for a firm to require you to essentially complete the same course twice. Though you correctly say there is a difference, the language of PGDL vs GDL is often used interchangeably, and many firms will use more general language for people yet to complete it.

One exception that might apply, is if you go for one of the shorter courses, like the College of Legal Practice is only 20 weeks full time. It's possible a firm might not see this as sufficient, but even that I think is unlikely.
