    'Future Trainee Solicitor'
    'Future nothing'
    (delete as appropriate)

I had both of these typed in my phone.

I was waiting to hear back from a law firm after a bumpy Vac Scheme.

It was sort of obvious it hadn't gone well.

But 'future nothing' if you don't get one of a handful of jobs at a law firm?

Well, yes, that's how it seemed at the time.

Not now of course, but back in January 2021, as had been the case for the preceding three years, I hitched my sense of self-worth to a two letter acronym - TC, or Training Contract, if you prefer.

Now those letters have quite a different meaning:

    Take control
    Tutoring career
    Take care
    Tailor-made career

    Etc etc.

It's easier to 'make it' in life without a Training Contract than you might thin
I just saw this on Linkedin. Whilst I agree with it, I think somebody is advertising services...

EDIT: Just caught up and people seem to know this person, sorry for sceptisism/rushing to judgment.

Hi - could anybody who progressed past the assessment stage with Simmons indicate what pillar scores you got? I'm just curious, I feel like I did my best VI's, but I am thinking a lot about the quite low scores in the SJT... not that I can do anything about it.
yeah I also wanna know, thanks 💫🙏🏻🫶🏻

A bit of an unrelated query sorry - is it wiser to take a paralegal job (that pays less) rather than a legal team assistant job (that pays more)?
If legal team assistant pays more, means its a better firm, which means you might get more opportunities to change roles in the future at that firm.

I am not sure if one would be better than the other, maybe compare the job criteria of both and see which gives you more responsibility.

Depends how the firms define the roles.

At my firm a legal assistant pretty much does admin only, I’m lucky that I get to do paralegal work (without the job title and pay promotion because my current firm are tight…).

If you want legal experience though, paralegal would likely be better (again depending on how firm defines the roles). Also it depends on your financial status and security whether you can afford to take lower pay in exchange for legal experience.
