Thoughts and feelings on this because it's really annoyed me. Certain US law firm is hosting an insight day for a select few of their vacation schemers before the VS begins to encourage them to accept 'potential' TC offers. The remaining VSers have no idea this is happening.
which firm? this is so weird of them and unfair to other candidates!

The only thing that comes to mind is WTF.

I don’t like the lack of transparency and almost sneakiness of it all. Let alone the clear favouritism going on if that’s what the purpose of the insight day is for…

My point exactly. Recruitment might have predisposed ideas about people, but giving them special treatment is a whole different thing. Sad thing is, people I found out from didn't see an issue with it!!

So strange, do you know what the invites were based on? Do they all have other VS offers? Don’t agree with it either way, but maybe the firm’s trying to convince the candidates to choose them over their other options

Yes that's why they did it. But also, like I said to the person who told me, they could take ALL their VSers out, make all of them feel special maybe even in smaller groups. But their response was that it's the exclusivity that makes them feel special and more inclined to choose the firm... I think the VS should do all the convincing
