what is a 'mark-up' exercise? :)
I think it's where you do a sort of 'red flag review' of a document, typically a contract or supply agreement etc., which is in the process of being negotiated between parties and your client wants you to change certain clauses to benefit them (e.g. if they're the employer, they'd want as strict non-competes as can be achieved without violating employment law) AND / OR recognise clauses that are too beneficial to the other party and have been sneakily snuck in there.
