and how you can demonstrate confidence, clarity, and genuine motivation throughout an assessment centre.
We are still looking for responses to the second thread.
As the least commercially aware person I know, I am sure the community of TCLA can do a lot better in analysing this more so than I would! Highly recommend people do post their thoughts.
I would instead ask Grad Rec to forward the email on to thank the interviewers rather than asking for the emails, as otherwise you are asking Grad Rec to deal with multiple emails (to ask for permission to share the details with you to each interviewer, then the email back to you), instead of...
I think it ultimately comes down to individual circumstances.
Some people will be much clearer on what defines their motivations and can therefore select in or out based on that criteria. Sometimes that comes with experience, sometimes it is down to strong individual motivations that make...
No - there is no harm in a polite request for an update.
The only time it could be an issue is if you were told you would hear back until mid to late Feb (or even later).
There is a possibility that they have decided to hire fewer vac schemers than they originally planned. They could easily be in the middle of budget planning for the next financial year and have been told to make some cuts, and therefore all of a sudden need to make fewer vacation scheme hires...
I have never done this, and I haven't heard of it being done.
I suspect it is down to a human error unfortunately. Did they send you full written offers or was it just a verbal offer you received?
I won't know for sure - things have changed since I was there.
However, I wouldn't expect an invite to the AC as it is most likely that your application is reviewed after you have completed the WG, and invites are made based on the combination of your application form and WG result. This is how...
Completely agree with this scenario and situation are unfortunately interchangeable phrases used to describe both questions asking you how you may deal with both hypothetical interactions and business tasks
As someone has mentioned above, contact the platform provider and see if they can reset it for you. You might need to email from the firm to confirm this.
Otherwise just keep calling/emailing the firm in question.
Definitely ok to ask - these things happen every year. The firm might just not be able to move you based on individual circumstances at that time. Call them tomorrow and ask whether it is possible.
Typically the answer is “don’t read it and let the person know who sent it ASAP that you got it, and inform your supervisor that it was still sent even if it wasn’t read”.
It really doesn’t work like this, and I would strongly advise not to factor this into your decision making. Most firms have had decades of applicants trying to game the system and apply to what they perceive to be less popular locations, and then try to move to another location at either offer...
It’s generally graduate recruitment deciding who is invited to AC. Sometimes there are a small panel of associates or partners who may screen applications, but this is rare. Even in those circumstances, it’s unlikely the people who invited you will be the people who interview/assess you.
If you...
It’s actually both.
You have to provide the details for employers but this is checked against your application form.
Mistakes happen, but how much of an issue this is depends on what the error is and your explanation for why this mistake happened.
The chances are going to be so varied based on individual circumstances at that time. A good chance with the firm in the previous cycle doesn’t necessarily mean it will be a good chance this cycle.
By operating a waiting list, there clearly is a chance though, and that’s the positive to focus on.
