Hello, have just been invited to the next stage for Simmons & Simmons, including their video interview and written exercise (I think this is a new element)! Does anyone have any advice in relation to this?

Congrats! Me too- I'm also a bit nervous about this mysterious new written exercise. I've only ever done one "recorded" video interview before, so I would be really grateful if anyone had any advice on this

It is still a recorded video interview, they just have a range of questions.

It is different if you are an international student studying in the U.K. Then a visa is straight forward and as of next June will be the case even if you have graduated in the last 2 years.

Look to whether you are eligible for a youth mobility visa - will depend on your home country, but this is one way you can work in the U.K. Its just you will need to pay for it

I was an International student studying in the UK but I already finished my LPC this July and as far as I was aware, the new visa rules apply for those who have started their course September or is my understanding wrong and it even predates those who have graduated before? I would love to find out more if that is the case.

Just been invited to the NRF WG test.. i only have 48 hours AHH.
Does anyone know if they have a pass/fail to get through to the next stage(I think it’s a phone interview) or if they take the top % out of curiosity?

Unfortunately it only applies to people who are currently studying.

You likely qualify under the Tier 5 - Government authorised exchange: https://www.gov.uk/tier-5-government-authorised-exchange. Read up on that and if you have questions DM me. I don't qualify for youth mobility either but plan to stay in the UK after my visa expires in January on this form of Tier 5.

Thanks for this. Although, it states NRF offer direct TC applications however on the site there’s nowhere to apply. Similarly it suggests CMS offers a TC but to my recollection they only make offers through their vac schemes? I may be wrong?

Taken from NRF's FAQs:
"If I don't do a vacation scheme with Norton Rose Fulbright, can I still apply for a training contract?
You can. We welcome applications from those who haven’t applied for a vacation scheme and also from those who did apply, but weren’t invited to an assessment day. But if you are reapplying, we expect you to have critically reviewed your application and made some updates to the content.

If we invited you to a vacation scheme assessment day, but you were unsuccessful at that stage, you can still apply for a training contract. However, we suggest you ask for feedback from the graduate recruitment team who were at the assessment day; and also that you wait 12 months from the date of your original application before reapplying."

If anyone is interested in the NRF front, last year I applied and was rejected within 48 hours and met all the criteria etc. This year I applied and was invited to WG. My app was significantly stronger this year, I’m a graduate so same eligibility so maybe last time it was just that my app was not up to scratch and got reviewed quickly!

Can I ask how long it took for you to get WG invite? I applied 2 weeks ago...

How do you know this? I literally applied for their Vac Scheme 2 weeks ago as I didn't see any opening for TCs!!:/
