Our society is a student division of a well-known pro-bono organisation, Lawyers Without Borders. LWOB x UoM is the first of its kind in Manchester. The Primary aim of this society is to work towards creating an international experience environment for aspiring lawyers while inculcating in them and promoting the importance of Human rights issue, access to justice and the rule of law. We wish to help our peers understand and experience the intricacy of cross-border matters and transactions in a friendly and pressure-free atmosphere. It will be done through several fun activities such as fundraisers (e.g. pizza nights, cake bakes), Negotiation and moot competitions (topics relating to HR issues, international law, etc.), Debates, workshops, lectures and of course socials. We also provide students with a unique opportunity to conduct research for the organisation on various human rights issues. As CSR becomes an essential responsibility of every business and firm, we have partnered up with TCLA to give our members a taste of how pro-bono can be integrated within a business.
