I don't know about you guys but I honestly feel so lost and demotivated. :/ don't know where I am heading. I have few more applications to draft this cycle but duno where to start and on the edge of giving up

Hi Teddy, sorry to read that you're feeling lost.

In terms of figuring out where you're heading, there is a podcast called legal tea that I found really helpful in terms of helping me figure out directions in terms of where to target my applications. The host interviews lawyers/legal-adjacent professionals from practice areas outside of the traditional corporate law bubble and it turns out there's a lot of interesting specialisms that I'd never considered. Maybe you might also find it useful?

Does anyone have any experience of contacting grad rec to ask for a test deadline extension, due to illness? I have been feeling super rough ever since I was sent Mayer Brown’s test - I thought I’d get better, but I have only been feeling more ill. Would really appreciate any advice, as I need to take it by the end of tomorrow!

Hi everyone I did the online test for IM and didn’t make it past to the VI round, I was wondering for those who made it what did you get in your feedback and what strategies did you use for it?

Hey, I took it last week - not sure if the SJT part is timed but I know the verbal reasoning part is. However, between each section you can take a break (I think they time each section rather than the whole thing) and when you begin the test, it does mention taking breaks so I think this should be fine!

Have you heard back yet? I did the tests for Mayer Brown today. Yes, the SJT is not timed, but all sections of the verbal reasoning test is. I took a couple of mins between each session before you click start module

Yes it is, I did the practice tests, it is very similar! The VR test is split into 5 sections with 4 questions each, it is timed but you have a page in between each section to take a minute!

Just to be clear you can basically take as much time as you want in between each section but I just took a min!

There is absolutely no harm in asking. Some firms will give extensions for things like this, especially if the recruitment timelines allow it.

I think in total it maybe took me about an hour + 15? So not as long as I thought it would take!
