Im still waiting as well and know several people off forum waiting, don’t know why they wouldn’t have just sent the rejections already though as we are what three weeks post deadline?

Here's the email they sent out post-application!

Dear xxx

Thank you for taking the time to complete Baker McKenzie's online application form for a place on our Summer Vacation Scheme.

We will review applications on a rolling basis and you will be advised if you are successful to progressing to the next stage, an online test, by no later than 14 February 2024.

The next stage of the process will be a video interview and these will be sent to candidates in February 2024.

I am not entirely sure but I have not heard of someone getting an automatic VI for bakers.

the bakers website says: "Video interview - Upon successful completion of the online test, you will be invited to a video interview, to respond to pre-recorded questions."

Yes it has been three weeks now. I'm a little confused too. It seems last year VI invites were sent 2 weeks after the deadline but then again so were the PFOs.

Yeah this is my first cycle but I’d heard it was a lot quicker last year. Maybe just another firm struggling with increased numbers this year?

I know, I applied a couple weeks before the deadline so it’s been longer for me haha! Also last year I heard people found out quite quick post deadline that’s all : )

anyone else feeling not the best about the baker's test? scored pretty low in two of the categories and feeling super disappointed. do you know if they look at this on its own or also with your application?

You should always stay humble but cant say I'm not surprised. I thought my app was really strong considering I made it past app stage for other shipping firms. Was my application too late? or was the quality not enough compared to other applicants

Agreed my application was pretty strong and I literally work on a maritime project at work doing contractual agreements and purchasing!!
