Also - does anyone have any insights into the Simmons and Simmons written exercise? I have no idea how to prepare for that, but have already done the tests. Somehow I'm more anxious for the written exercise than the video interview!

Winter vs AC from Hogans. I can't believe its real. I had an AC last year and bombed so badly on the partner interview. I have no idea why they are giving me another chance, but I am over the moon.

Because they saw something last time and have seen even more in your most recent application. Lots of people I know who are highly successful lawyers now are people who weren't successful the first time around but they reapplied and then got the role at the firm.

    Hey guys,

    Cheekily posting here for visibility:

1,000 FREE places are once again available for our second webinar: Common Mistakes on Application Forms. Note, our places booked up very quickly last week, so please be sure to book early to avoid disappointment!

    https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Q3kUOF_zTFysPrlRbIid0Q

In this second webinar, we break down where hundreds of candidates fall down in their applications every year, and you’ll learn about how the seemingly small changes can make a substantial difference to your application.

Once again, we'll be leading this session using real application answers and comparisons of ‘weak’ and ‘strong’ applications to a variety of law firms.

The discussion will cut across justifying your motivations for commercial law, justifying your motivations for applying to a particular firm, answering commercial questions, and selling your experiences on an application form.

This session is brought to you by the full application review team at TCLA, including TCLA founder Jaysen Sutton, resident graduate recruitment expert Jessica Booker and Community Manager Alice Gossop. This way, we hope you’ll benefit from the range of perspectives we have on what makes a stand-out application.

Does anyone know what Linklaters looks at more for the Watson Glaser score? Got 75% raw marks in the test which is not too bad but then placed in the 44th percentile which is quite bad.

I don't know if they value the percentile or raw mark more but they do look at each part of the application equally if that's any help

Just got a Baker McKenzie WG invite! (Right off a weird rejection from Weil). Anyone know if Baker McKenzie screens their applications before sending off the WG?
they do!! on the website I think they said only about 40% (it used to be 30%) of applicants will pass screening and get a wg invite. from my experience last year it was like this as well :)

Yes they do! It was mentioned at their open day earlier in the year. Congrats!

Aw thank you so much! That's very motivating considering I was rejected from their General Open Day!

Has anyone heard back from Travers Smith regarding their winter vacation scheme application as they said that they recruit on a rolling basis and their deadline is 10 days before their vacation scheme starts thank you.

What does everyone think about the possibility of in-person VS next year? I really want to do a physical one as opposed to a virtual one and was wondering if I should be applying to more summer vacation schemes? With the lockdown and rising cases, I predict that spring vacation schemes will be moved online :/
