Hi Jessica, I have another question:
When referring to a US or international law firm’s work either in the context of an “interesting news story and how it might impact us” question or when justifying your interest in the firm, how important is it to focus specifically on deals or cases done by...
Hi Jessica, a question regarding the "Rare" section in application forms: if there is no "I am not a UK student" option at the outset, would you recommend that international students like myself fill in this section as if we had been educated in the UK or just skip it/decline to provide the...
No, but I don't have much hope left at this stage. Two people in the forum said they called them last week to ask about the status of their application and were told they ought to have received a rejection.
I was invited to and completed the game based assessment 3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything since, so their lack of information/correspondence doesn't seem to be limited to the initial screening stage
Hi Jessica, what would you advise those of us who haven't heard back to do? Take the lack of communication as a rejection, call them and ask, or wait and not give up hope?
This is so disappointing to hear :( also, something's clearly gone wrong on their end, to my knowledge nobody has received any rejection emails yet or has any clue what has happened to their applications (apart from those who have already had their AC).
Just searched through my emails, I received a rejection for last year's vac scheme on 8 February and I applied on or very close to the deadline. Hope this helps.
Agreed! I'm also quite convinced that people who game have a considerable advantage (reaction speed, hand-eye coordination etc), in spite of what the firms say.
It sounds like PwC use the exact same game as Taylor Wessing. Did you also have to match adjectives to (computer-generated) facial expressions? ;) TW also claim the score doesn't matter but I somehow doubt that. I only scored around 7,500 and I haven't (yet) been invited to the next stage while...
Has anybody received a rejection from Taylor Wessing yet (post game-based assessment)? I know there's an AC tomorrow but I'm wondering if there might be more than one
Received the second rejection of the day (Skadden) before I had finished reading the first (Squire Patton Boggs, post-VI). How is everybody else's Monday going? ;)
So could this be a totally innocent question with no "preferred" answer? I did the GDL and it would have never occurred to me to apply for TCs in my second year (law simply wasn't on my radar) but even my friends who did LLBs and applied in their second year did so primarily for visa reasons or...
Exactly! Also, I genuinely don't understand why hiring someone very young would be considered advantageous in the first place, or why applying for TCs in your second year of uni (when you may still be a teenager(!)) would be interpreted as stronger evidence of your commitment to a career in law...
Hi Jessica, do you have any advice on how to approach a "what are your personal and career goals" type of question in a vac scheme application form? I'm assuming it would make sense to focus on the foreseeable future (e.g. the next 5 years) and aim to come across as ambitious but not delusional...
I did the VI for the London vac scheme and haven't heard anything yet. Grad recruitment said they would be making decisions at the end of last week but it appears it's taking a while to communicate them to us...
