Hi Guys ! I am sharing my list of firms to apply for direct TC. Does anyone can give insight about which firms recruit a good portion from direct TC, and worth focusing on its application. This will be helpful

From your list, firms such as Ashurst, Dentons, Freshfields, NRF, White & Case, Travers Smith hire considerably from the Direct TC process, so are worth focusing on. Avoid firms with smaller trainee intakes (like Kirkland, Weil etc) for the Direct TC process. When firms have smaller intakes, they usually prefer hiring from the VS process instead.

It looks like Hogan Lovells are reopening TC applications from June - July this year. Does anyone know if this is for a different year? They were also open at the start of this year. Is it worth reapplying if rejected this cycle?

I was wondering whether it is possible to apply twice in the same recruitment cycle to TLT. If you applied for the VS, can you re-apply for the TC in the same year?

@Jessica Booker I read an article a couple of months ago about partnership structures. The article essentially criticised firms like Kirkland for promoting their lawyers to non-equity partners so fast that when these partners left the firm, they struggled to find a similar role at a different firm and most left the profession altogether (they gathered their data from LinkedIn so it's not perfect ). Is this applicable to all US firms?

Feel free to DM if you want an overview of the Ashurst AC. I did the VS AC last year, which is slightly different, but might still be able to help.
