With over 900 members and strong ties to some of the biggest law firms in the world, the University of Nottingham Law Society is one of the largest and most active student societies across the UK.

Over the last few years, we have been awarded the three most prestigious accolades by the Students’ Union: starting with the “Best Society” award, followed by “Best Departmental Society” alongside winning the “Activities Officer’s Award” two years in a row. We consistently strive to better ourselves, and over the last three years we have branched into new ventures by being awarded “Best Welfare and Inclusivity Award” in 2015, 2016 and 2017, the “Best Entrepreneurial Initiative” for our Book Sale, as well as the “Best Academic Experience” in recognition of our services and dedication to the students of the School of Law in 2016 and 2017.

LawSoc offers an unparalleled careers service for both Law and Non-Law students, organising and promoting presentations, workshops and networking events throughout the year with many of the world’s top law firms. With weekly careers newsletters and exclusive application workshops, LawSoc members are given invaluable guidance to some of the most reputable employers in the legal field. LawSoc careers opportunities are ever expanding – in 2017 LawSoc held the largest networking event within the Law School, being recognised nationally as the “Best Careers Event 2017”at the LawCareers.Net Law Society Awards for our infamous “Dinner with the City” networking evening.

The society also has some of the best and most competitive sports teams on campus. Additionally, thanks to its kind sponsors, the Law Society provides the biggest and most renowned socials on campus. Termly river cruises, grand evening balls and even our annual theatre trip provide the perfect opportunity to relax alongside your degree.
