Jess worked in graduate recruitment from 2005 to 2014, for a range of law firms and other global businesses. These included Freshfields, Allen & Overy, Linklaters and Deloitte. In 2014 she set up Star Potential, a consultancy business advising employers and academic institutions on early careers and employability matters. Since then, her clients have included a range of law firms for whom she designed exercises for training contract assessment days, and provided services such as screening applications and conducting telephone or video interviews.

Jess joined TCLA in 2019 to act as a graduate recruitment expert. Her role is to help demystify the selection and assessment processes for commercial firms, as well as provide frank and honest advice. She is passionate about all strands of diversity and is keen to ensure the legal professions are accessible.
