Think of our application review service as a stamp of approval, so you know this has been checked by TCLA, and it’s of a very high standard. We take our time to carefully review every sentence of your application line by line. And we’ll coach you on exactly how to make it even better.
How We Improve Your Applications
When you send us your application, we’ve seen hundreds of submissions to the same firm. So we can help you make your motivations feel more specific to that firm, and we can guide you on how to better approach a question. Here’s what we do:
- We immediately correct any typos, grammatical errors or unclear sentences.
- You get comments fully tailored to the law firm you’re applying to and feedback we’ve received about what they care about, the structure they look for, and the qualities they assess.

Yes! We have experience reviewing applications for the following roles:
- Applications to international offices (like Clifford Chance Middle East) and niche law firms

Send it to us by 4pm and we’ll return it the next working day. For example, if you send us an application on Monday before 4pm, we’ll return it by Tuesday.
If you send it to us on a Friday after 4pm, please note that we’ll return your application on Tuesday.
If you would like your work experience reviewed, we can certainly do this, and this will count as its own separate review.
We do not currently review CVs.
We would love to help and can provide a further review of an application if an additional review is purchased here.
All applications submitted to TCLA for review are shared only with our application review team for the purposes of reviewing your application. We will not share your applications with anyone else. We store applications on our project management software for eight months so we can handle follow-up queries and cross-reference your future application reviews with any older submissions. Thereafter, they are deleted.

Your application can be up to 1,500 words. If it’s longer than this, we’ll ask you to purchase an upgrade pack to give us the additional time to dedicate to your application.
Please note that we only accept one application to one law firm in a purchase. This allows us to tailor our comments to the particular law firm you are applying to.
If you’re working on one application and just want expert feedback quickly, the one-off review is perfect.
If you’re applying to several firms, the subscription is usually the better choice. It gives you 50% off your first review, 20% off every review after that, and access to our full library of courses and firm-specific resources — which makes the whole application process easier and more consistent.
A good rule of thumb: if you expect to submit more than one application, the subscription will save you money.
Your application will be returned by midnight the next working day. If you need your application back earlier than this, please drop us an email at [email protected] and we’ll do our best to help you.
Our standard turnaround is 1 working day, and we prioritise urgent applications. If your deadline is extremely tight, email us at [email protected], and we’ll let you know whether an expedited review is possible.

Yes. You can still submit your document with bullet points, notes, or a draft outline. We’ll help you shape your ideas, structure your responses and identify the strongest content to include. This is especially useful if you’re unsure how to start an answer or how to approach a commercial or motivation question.
If you submit after 4pm on Friday, over the weekend, or on a bank holiday, your review will be returned by the following working day.
